One of the courses I learned was Motion. This ranged from hand drawn animations to using Adobe After Effects.
I’ve picked out a few things I made that I’m either particularly fond of, or ones that gave me a challenge.
Line Animation
Hand animation was hard, I had dabbled in it in the past but for this assignment I had had to think harder about timing, pacing and how gravity would make a line move when dropped.
The line crawls away at the end of the animation, so I had to account for the sturdiness that the line would need to have while keeping mobility, so when it was dropped I made sure it kept its sturdiness.

Circle Animation
This next animation was an assignment to animate a ball. I didn’t want to do a simple bouncing animation so I mixed it with the smaller orb that’s orbiting. I want to go back and remake this animation, as I feel I could have put more heart into the bounce.

Animated Gifs
The next few images are Gifs I made in After Effects.
I made this with the intent of it giving a similar feeling to the backrooms, while having a calm, fun feeling while keeping it just distorted enough to give it that unsettling backrooms feeling.

I made this piece simply because I wanted to play around in After Effects. I learned a lot of things while doing this project and I love how it turned out once all of the layers had their movements.

This last gif I made wanting to try the pull animation effect. I decided on a creepy theme and learned a lot about different filters and matching colors across images.

Animated Logo
This is a logo I made as one of my first assignments using after effects. The logo was made for an earlier assignment and I learned how to take an existing logo, turning it into an animation that can be put at the beginning or end of social media ads, commercials, and other things.
